RFP complete for potential relocation

An RFP for potential locations for the temporary relocation of Central Library services was completed, and options are being considered. At the November 28 Board meeting, discussion focused on the approach to Central Library Renewal, and whether a change in direction for the overall project would affect the need to put the temporary relocation project on hold. For example, if the library was built elsewhere, might there be less of a need to relocate in the meantime?

In the end, the board requested, through Mayor Sandra Masters and Councillor Bob Hawkins, both of whom are on the RPL Board of Directors, that City Administration be asked to provide financial options for Central Library Renewal and the temporary relocation project. This will allow the Board to consider next steps to continue advancing Central Library Renewal.
