Central Library is one of Regina’s most important public spaces.
There’s a place for everyone at Central Library. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to read, a spot to connect with others, help learning a new language, access to technology, or simply somewhere to spend time, you’re welcome here. Open seven days a week, Central offers many ways to learn, discover, explore, and connect with your community. And the best part? You don’t need to buy anything to enjoy the space.
Welcoming around 400,000 visits each year, Central is our busiest library and an important part of community life. It’s a place where people come to learn, discover, connect, and feel a sense of belonging. As the hub of our library system, Central also brings together specialized services, unique collections, expertise, technology, and supports that help strengthen neighbourhood libraries across the city.
People from across Regina visit Central Library. It’s not simply a downtown branch; it serves everyone.
But the current building has reached its limits. Its layout restricts how the community can use the space, and its aging systems create ongoing disruption and risk. These challenges cannot be fully resolved through continued repairs.
